Inaugration of Footwear Program at Ek Pahel Pathshala 07.12.2022

The Indian women in footwear industry witnessed a new hope. Ek Pahel B R Memorial Welfare Society & Shoegaro Fashions Private Limited launched project ‘Swabhimaan’ with a vision to provide tailored support to women by training and creating new job opportunities for them and also by creating women entrepreneurs amongst them and connecting them with the mainstream working class in the #footwear industry. Project Swabhimaan, provides an ecosystem that develops women by capacity building and provide job stabilities to the women who are willing to learn and work and help them achieve their dream to change the future for themselves, for their kids and their country. Ek Pahel launched first of its kind Swabhimaan women’s footwear training centre in Agra, in collaboration with Shoegaro. The Swabhimaan training centre was inaugurated on 25th November 2022 by Mr Puran Dawar, the chairperson of the Dawar group, Head of Agra footwear manufacturers and exporters chambers (AFMEC), Regional chairman (north India) for the council of Leather exports and is a distinguished personality of the footwear industry. The first batch of 25 women is getting trained at the Swabhimaan women’s footwear training centre. These 25 women will become a part of Shoegaro’s artisan network and will have the jobs as soon as they finish their 2 months training programme. #workingwomen #swabhimaan
